✓ Both shop-tested side by side by Mark and Janette, September 2026 ✓ Vista V3 also seen in daily use by a family of five in Beadnell

Our verdict

If there’s any chance of a second child, the Vista V3 is the UPPAbaby to buy — and it’s the better pushchair of the two.

It handles better on its large wheels, includes a carrycot, and grows from one child to three. The Cruz V3 is 8.4cm narrower and about £350 cheaper — but it’s only a little lighter, can’t take a second seat, and lets itself down with the fold and the handling.

How we compared them

Both: shop-tested on the same day in September 2026 by Mark and Janette, with help from a lovely assistant named Jill — pushing, steering, folding, lifting, the recline and the handlebar.
UPPAbaby Vista V3: also seen in daily use by a family with three young children at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell, Northumberland, where I watched the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board come off and go back on — and I removed and refitted both myself in the shop test.

Choose the Vista V3 if…

a second child is part of the plan, you want the better push and handling, and you’d like a carrycot in the box — and your car boot, doorways and budget can take a 65.3cm-wide pushchair.

Choose the Cruz V3 if…

you’re sure one baby will be enough, you’re a city dweller — shops and pavements — and you want a narrower, cheaper UPPAbaby with a high seat. But compare it with the Bugaboo Dragonfly first.

What makes the UPPAbaby Vista V3 stand out

The Vista V3 is a highly adaptable pushchair. If you have your first child and are planning to expand your family, it happily operates as a single — with its large wheels, great suspension and good storage — and when child number two comes along, you only need to expand, not start again with a new pushchair. I met a family at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell with one carrying three young children, and watched the dad take the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board off and put them back on before any of the kids made a sound. In the shop test, I did the same myself. Easy peasy.

The catch is that it’s wide, heavy and expensive — and if one baby will be enough, this isn’t the single pushchair for you. By no stretch.

💡 From the Vista owner I met in Beadnell

“It’s a cracking bit of kit!” — his negatives were that it’s heavy with three kids on board, takes room in the car and isn’t cheap.

What makes the UPPAbaby Cruz V3 stand out

The Cruz V3 is UPPAbaby’s full-size single — the more urban-focused sibling to the Vista. It handles well, it’s easy to push, it’s easy to steer and it feels fairly nimble… on the flat. It’s fairly sturdy — Janette’s view as well as mine — and the seat is high, at 58cm when I tested it. At 56.9cm it’s 8.4cm narrower than the Vista, and around £350 cheaper.

But it’s OK rather than exceptional. It has a full-size footprint, which gives added weight, yet it isn’t all-terrain — and at 12.3kg it’s only a little lighter than the Vista’s 12.5kg. The tyres are quite hard, which will make it bobbly on rougher ground. The fold needs two hands, so you’ll not be able to keep baby in arms while you do it, and there’s no carry handle once folded.

⚠️ Janette’s note

Janette felt the Cruz V3 to be fairly sturdy, and she liked that when it’s folded it stands on its rear wheels and frame bumper, which stops the fabrics from getting dirty on the ground.

The question that decides it

Is a second child part of the plan? If it is, the Vista V3 is the one — when child number two comes along, you add a RumbleSeat rather than buying a new pushchair, and the width stays at 65.3cm. If you’re pretty sure one baby will be enough, the Vista’s main strength is wasted, and you’re carrying a wide, expensive pushchair for nothing.

For a one-child family, the Cruz V3 is the narrower, cheaper UPPAbaby — and if you’re a city dweller, shops and pavements, you need not worry, it will do the job. But don’t assume it’s lighter: there’s only 0.2kg between them. As I always say, before buying a pushchair you need to understand where you will use it and how you will use it.

💬 If this were my money…

If you’re set on the Vista V3, buy it because a second child is part of the plan. If there’s any chance of a second child, the Vista is the UPPAbaby to look at.

If you’re pretty sure one baby will be enough, the Cruz V3 is the UPPAbaby single — but for my money, the Bugaboo Dragonfly ticks more boxes. The Cruz V3 lets itself down with the fold and the handling. As always, choose the right pushchair for your needs and budget.

Choose the UPPAbaby Vista V3 if:

  • A second child — or a third — is part of the plan
  • You want the better push, with large wheels and great suspension
  • You’d like a carrycot in the box
  • You have a large car boot and the budget for a premium pushchair plus extras

Choose the UPPAbaby Cruz V3 if:

  • You’re pretty sure one baby will be enough
  • You’re a city dweller — shops and pavements
  • Width matters — it’s 8.4cm narrower
  • You want the cheaper UPPAbaby, and you’ll usually fold it with both hands free

About this comparison

Mark founded MyPushchair.co.uk in 2006 after struggling to find honest, straightforward pushchair advice as a new dad. For this comparison he shop-tested both pushchairs on the same day with Janette in September 2026, and met a family using a Vista V3 for three young children in Beadnell, Northumberland — removing and refitting the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board himself.
