Why trust this advice: MyPushchair has been covering the pushchair market since 2006. Mark launched the site as a dad who couldn’t find straight answers, attended baby shows, and tested hundreds of models over two decades. This page reflects genuine experience — not manufacturer specs or sponsored content.
Cybex pushchairs represent what German engineering looks like applied to the world of baby transport. Cybex, founded in Germany in 2005, has built its pushchair range on exactly that reputation — and in the UK market, where they weren’t widely known during the early years of this site, they’ve been growing steadily and deservedly.
My honest assessment of Cybex: they are not the budget end of the market, and they don’t pretend to be. But the old adage holds — you get what you pay for. The engineering is evident in the way their pushchairs feel and function. Innovative design features, solid build quality, and a comprehensive range that covers everything from ultra-compact travel strollers to full-size luxury pushchairs and even an electric model.
If you’re doing serious research on premium pushchairs, Cybex deserves to be on your shortlist.
The current Cybex pushchair range
Cybex Priam — the full-size flagship
The Priam is Cybex’s premium full-size pushchair and their most iconic model. The 2026 generation added an XXL extended sun canopy with UPF50+ integrated visor, a refined footrest, leather detailing on the handle and bumper bar, and an XL shopping basket. From birth to 22kg, suitable for everyday use in all conditions.
The one-pull harness is a genuinely innovative feature — one action secures the harness perfectly, no fiddling required. It’s the kind of thoughtful engineering detail that distinguishes Cybex from brands that treat the harness as an afterthought.
Cybex e-Priam — the electric pushchair
The e-Priam is the electric-assist version of the Priam — an automatic motor provides push and brake assist, making hills and rough ground significantly easier. It also features automatic rocking to soothe babies. A genuinely innovative product that reflects Cybex’s willingness to push the boundaries of what a pushchair can do.
Not for everyone — it’s heavy and expensive — but for parents who struggle with hills or rough terrain, it’s a remarkable piece of engineering.
Cybex Gazelle S — for growing families
The Gazelle S is Cybex’s answer for parents planning or expecting a second child. It converts from single to double and back again, with multiple configuration options. If you’re buying ahead of a growing family, the Gazelle S is worth serious consideration — it removes the need to buy a separate double pushchair later.
Cybex Balios S Lux — the everyday mid-range
The Balios S Lux sits between the compact models and the premium Priam — a full-featured everyday pushchair at a more accessible price point. The 2026 model features a redesigned rear frame and rebuilt suspension supports, addressing known wear issues from previous generations. Worth knowing if you’re comparing across Cybex generations.
Cybex Mios — lightweight city pushchair
The Mios is Cybex’s lightweight city-focused option — compact, agile, and designed for navigating narrow pavements and busy urban environments. Suitable from birth, it combines the brand’s design quality with a more manageable form factor for parents who don’t need a full-size pushchair.
Cybex Coya and Libelle — ultra-compact travel
The Coya and Libelle are Cybex’s travel-focused compact models. The Libelle at 5.9kg is one of the lightest pushchairs on the market and fits in overhead lockers on planes. The Coya is cabin-compatible and travel-system ready. Both reflect Cybex’s engineering approach applied to the travel pushchair category.

What Cybex does better than most
Engineering innovation. Cybex pushchairs consistently introduces features that other brands then copy — the one-pull harness, electric assist, innovative fold mechanisms. They think carefully about how pushchairs actually work rather than just how they look.
Design. Cybex pushchairs are genuinely stylish without being fussy. The aesthetic is modern, considered, and distinctive without being as fashion-forward as iCandy or as classic as Silver Cross. They look good in any setting.
Range breadth. From a £150 compact stroller to an electric full-size pushchair — Cybex covers the entire market with consistent quality standards across the range.
Which? recognition. Cybex won Which? Baby and Child Brand of the Year 2024 — a meaningful endorsement from the UK’s most trusted consumer organisation.
Who Cybex is right for
Cybex suits parents who appreciate quality engineering and thoughtful design, and who are prepared to pay for it. If you’ve been looking at Bugaboo and UPPAbaby and want to consider a strong German alternative, Cybex pushchairs absolutely deserves a place in that comparison.
They’re particularly strong for urban parents — the Mios, Coya and Libelle are excellent city and travel pushchairs — and for parents who want innovative features rather than just premium materials.
Where Cybex is less ideal: if you’re on a tight budget, the entry point is higher than Joie or Graco. And if you prefer a more classic British design sensibility, Silver Cross may feel more natural.
A note on buying Cybex pushchairs secondhand
Cybex holds its value well secondhand. The build quality means older models perform well and parts are generally available. A well-kept Priam or Balios bought privately can represent excellent value — the engineering that makes them good new makes them durable secondhand too.
