Our verdict
Side by side or one above the other? For most families, that decides it — and the Bugaboo Donkey 6 edges it.
As a double, both children get a full-size seat rated to 22kg, side by side, and the basket is bigger. Choose the UPPAbaby Vista V3 instead if you want a pushchair that’s lighter as a single, cheaper, and stays the same width when the second seat goes on — 65.3cm against the Donkey’s 74cm.
How we compared them
Bugaboo Donkey 6: handled in store, where I saw the single-to-double conversion — a really straightforward three-step process. Its double mode is otherwise assessed from Bugaboo’s specifications and long-term owner reports, not our own daily use.
UPPAbaby Vista V3: seen in daily use by a family with three young children at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell, Northumberland, where I watched the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board come off and go back on. Then shop-tested with Janette for fold, size, quality and strength — and I removed and refitted the RumbleSeat and board myself.

Choose the Donkey 6 if…
you want your children side by side, both in a full-size seat, with room for a heavier older child — and your doorways, car boot and budget can take a heavier pushchair that widens to 74cm.
Choose the Vista V3 if…
you want the same width as a single and a double, a lighter pushchair to lift into the boot as a single, and the lower price — and you’re happy for the second child to ride in a 15kg RumbleSeat underneath.

What makes the Bugaboo Donkey 6 stand out
The Donkey 6 is side by side, so it’s materially different from the Vista V3 — and for most people that may be the deciding factor on its own. Both children sit next to each other in a full-size seat rated to 22kg, so there’s no juggling which child fits where as they grow. In store I saw the single-to-double conversion: three clips, press, slide, and the frame widens by 14cm. A really straightforward three-step process.
As a single it’s the narrower of the two, at 60cm against the Vista’s 65.3cm, and the basket is bigger. The catch is that it widens to 74cm as a double. Bugaboo says that fits through standard doorways, but I’d still measure yours before buying — and narrow shop aisles become noticeable. It’s also the heavier of the two: 15.2kg as a single with one seat, against the Vista’s 12.5kg, and Bugaboo gives 17.94kg with two seats.

What makes the UPPAbaby Vista V3 stand out
The Vista V3 is a highly adaptable pushchair. I met a family at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell with one carrying three young children — the RumbleSeat underneath and a PiggyBack board on the back — and watched the dad take both off and put them back on before any of the kids made a sound. When I shop-tested it later, I did the same myself. Easy peasy.
Because the RumbleSeat fits underneath, the width doesn’t change when you add it — 65.3cm as a single and as a double. It’s also cheaper, and lighter as a single. The catch is the RumbleSeat’s 15kg limit: the main seat goes up to 22kg, so as the children grow, a heavier child may need to go on the top.

💡 From the owner I met in Beadnell
“It’s a cracking bit of kit!” — his negatives were that it’s heavy with three kids on board, takes room in the car and isn’t cheap.
The question that decides it
Side by side, or one above the other? On the Donkey 6 your children sit next to each other in two full-size seats. On the Vista V3 the second child rides in the RumbleSeat underneath, which is rated to 15kg — so a bigger older child goes on top. Picture your two in each, and one will probably feel right straight away.
Then think about which mode you’ll use most. As a single, the Donkey is the narrower pushchair. As a double, the Vista is — 65.3cm against 74cm. If it’ll spend most of its life as a double in tight spaces, that matters. As I always say, before buying a pushchair you need to understand where you will use it and how you will use it.
💬 If this were my money…
For me, the Donkey 6 wins for the side-by-side layout — both kids can see each other and interact.
If you’re set on the Vista V3, buy it because a second child is part of the plan. However, if you’re pretty sure one baby will be enough, or you won’t have two babies around the same time, choose something different, as the Vista V3 isn’t the single pushchair for you — and the same goes for the Donkey 6.
Choose the Bugaboo Donkey 6 if:
- You want your children side by side
- Both children need a full-size seat — or the older one is heavy
- It’ll be used mostly as a single, where it’s the narrower of the two
- A bigger basket matters for full days out
Choose the UPPAbaby Vista V3 if:
- You want the same width as a single and a double
- Lifting it into the boot every day matters — as a single it’s around 2.7kg lighter with the main seat
- You want the cheaper route to a double
- You’re happy for the second child to ride in the RumbleSeat underneath

Frequently asked questions
Which is narrower, the Bugaboo Donkey 6 or the UPPAbaby Vista V3?
It depends on the mode. As a single, the Donkey 6 is narrower at 60cm against the Vista V3’s 65.3cm. As a double, the Vista V3 is narrower, because it stays at 65.3cm while the Donkey 6 widens to 74cm.
Which is better for an older, heavier child?
The Donkey 6. Both of its seats are full-size and rated to 22kg. On the Vista V3 the main seat is rated to 22kg, but the RumbleSeat is rated to 15kg or 91.4cm tall, whichever comes first, so a heavier child may need to go on the top seat.
Can both carry three children?
Yes. The Donkey 6 takes Bugaboo’s wheeled board and the Vista V3 takes UPPAbaby’s PiggyBack board, and both boards are sold separately.
Which is lighter?
In single-seat configuration, the Vista V3. It’s 12.5kg with the seat against the Donkey 6’s 15.2kg.
Which is cheaper as a double?
The Vista V3. At our October 2026 check, the Vista V3 with carrycot was £1,099.95 and the RumbleSeat V3 £299.95 at Natural Baby Shower — about £1,400 together. Bugaboo’s Donkey 6 double pushchair, with two seats and a carrycot, was £1,560. The packages aren’t identical, so check what’s included.

About this comparison
Mark founded MyPushchair.co.uk in 2006 after struggling to find honest, straightforward pushchair advice as a new dad. For this comparison he handled the Donkey 6 in store and saw its single-to-double conversion, met a family using a Vista V3 for three young children in Beadnell, Northumberland, and shop-tested the Vista V3 with Janette — removing and refitting the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board himself. The Donkey 6’s double mode is otherwise assessed from Bugaboo’s specifications.
