✓ Peach 8 handled in store with Janette ✓ Vista V3 seen in daily use by a family of five in Beadnell ✓ Vista V3 shop-tested, RumbleSeat and board refitted by hand

Our verdict

It’s a close call — but the iCandy Peach 8 wins.

It’s over 13cm narrower, the ride-on board is built in rather than an extra, and it has the longer warranty and a carrycot designed with The Lullaby Trust for overnight sleeping. Choose the UPPAbaby Vista V3 instead if you want the cheaper route to a double and a bigger basket.

How we compared them

iCandy Peach 8: handled in store with Janette — fabrics, fold, push balance and seat. Its double mode is assessed from iCandy’s specifications, not hands-on.
UPPAbaby Vista V3: seen in daily use by a family with three young children at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell, Northumberland, where I watched the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board come off and go back on. Then shop-tested with Janette for fold, size, quality and strength — and I removed and refitted the RumbleSeat and board myself.

What makes the iCandy Peach 8 stand out

The Peach 8 is over 13cm narrower — 52cm against the Vista V3’s 65.3cm — and it stays that width when you add a second seat. As a single, its seat is rated to 25kg against the Vista’s 22kg. And the ride-on board is integrated, whereas on the Vista V3 the PiggyBack board is another thing to buy.

When Janette and I handled the Peach 8 in store, it was the fabric that settled it. The carrycot is designed in partnership with The Lullaby Trust and is suitable for overnight sleeping, and the 5-year warranty is two years longer than the Vista V3’s. The catch is the price — it costs more than the Vista as a single and noticeably more as a double.

Janette’s note on the Peach 8

“That’s exceptional.” — Janette, handling the Peach 8 seat fabric in store

What makes the UPPAbaby Vista V3 stand out

The Vista V3 is a highly adaptable pushchair. I met a family at the Edgewater Cafe in Beadnell with one carrying three young children — the RumbleSeat underneath and a PiggyBack board on the back — and watched the dad take both off and put them back on before any of the kids made a sound. When I shop-tested it later, I did the same myself. Easy peasy.

As a single it has large wheels, great suspension and good storage, and its basket is rated higher than the Peach 8’s. Because the RumbleSeat fits underneath, the width doesn’t change when you add it — but you start from 65.3cm, which is a touch wide. It’s also the cheaper route to a double. The catch is the RumbleSeat’s 15kg limit: the main seat goes up to 22kg, so as the children grow, a heavier child may need to go on the top — though the Peach 8 has a similar 15kg limit on a seat fitted on elevators.

💡 From the owner I met in Beadnell

“It’s a cracking bit of kit!” — his negatives were that it’s heavy with three kids on board, takes room in the car and isn’t cheap.

The question that decides it

Where will you push it, and where will you keep it? Over 13cm is a lot of pushchair in a terraced hallway, a narrow shop aisle or a café doorway — and on the Vista V3 you live with that width from day one, not just when the second seat goes on. If space is tight, that alone may decide it. If it isn’t, the Vista V3’s lower cost as a double and bigger basket come back into play.

Then picture the seats. I’d describe it to someone who hasn’t seen them like this: the V3 places the seats a bit more above and below each other, whereas the Peach 8 puts them more in front and behind, as they’re closer vertically. On both, one seat is limited to 15kg as a double, so a heavier child goes on the seat rated for them. Try both in a shop with your children if you can — as I always say, before buying a pushchair you need to understand where you will use it and how you will use it.

💬 If this were my money…

For me, it’s a close call, but the Peach 8 is the winner. Why? Because it’s the narrower of the two, has the higher seat weight capacity as a single and has the built-in ride-on board — but it is heavy.

If you’re set on the Vista V3, buy it because a second child is part of the plan. However, if you’re pretty sure one baby will be enough, or you won’t have two babies around the same time, choose something different, as the Vista V3 isn’t the single pushchair for you.

Choose the iCandy Peach 8 if:

  • Width matters — doorways, hallways, shops
  • You want a ride-on board without paying extra
  • You want a carrycot designed with The Lullaby Trust for overnight sleeping and a 5-year warranty

Choose the UPPAbaby Vista V3 if:

  • You want the cheaper route to a double
  • A bigger basket matters for full days out
  • You prefer the seats stacked above and below
  • You have a large car boot and the width doesn’t worry you

About this comparison

Mark founded MyPushchair.co.uk in 2006 after struggling to find honest, straightforward pushchair advice as a new dad. For this comparison he handled the Peach 8 in store with Janette, met a family using a Vista V3 for three young children in Beadnell, Northumberland, and shop-tested the Vista V3 with Janette — removing and refitting the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board himself. The Peach 8’s double mode is assessed from iCandy’s specifications.
