The decision in one sentence
Our pick is the Fox 5 — the best all-terrain single pushchair money can buy, and it scores higher, 8.5/10 against 7.5/10. Choose the Geo3 if an enormous basket and one of the best warranties in the industry matter more to you. Either way, choose the right pushchair for your needs and budget.
Quick answer: Buy the Fox 5 if off-road performance is your overriding priority and you want the most capable all-terrain Bugaboo makes. Buy the Geo3 if you want a premium family all-terrain pushchair with a huge basket and a warranty that can run to 10 years — at a similar price point but with significantly different priorities.

Fox 5: Tested in store — suspension, steering, fold and build quality assessed against other premium all-terrain options.
Geo3: Observed in active duo use at Roundhay Park, Leeds — a warm Sunday afternoon. The couple we met had the Geo3 configured for two young children. We spoke with them directly, observed the pushchair across grass, gravel and varied park terrain, and had the opportunity to examine it closely and discuss long-term ownership with the family. The fold assessment is based on that conversation rather than personal operation.
Evidence basis: In-store Fox 5 assessment. Real-world Geo3 observation and owner conversation. Specs verified against bugaboo.com and joolz.com/uk October 2026.

This is a genuine premium buyer dilemma. Both the Bugaboo Fox 5 and the Joolz Geo3 sit in the £900–£1,200 bracket. Both are proper all-terrain pushchairs designed for outdoor families who don’t want to compromise on capability. Neither is lightweight. Neither is a city pushchair. I assessed the Fox 5 in store against other premium all-terrain options. The Geo3 I observed in active use at Roundhay Park, Leeds — one of the largest urban parks in Europe, with open grassland, gravel paths and gentle slopes — where a couple had it configured in duo mode with two young children. Speaking with them directly and watching the Geo3 across varied park terrain gave a clear picture of what this pushchair does well and where it has limits. The question is which approach to all-terrain family life suits you better.

The all-terrain question — which actually performs better outdoors?
Both are genuine all-terrain pushchairs. But there’s a meaningful gap between them outdoors. The Fox 5’s 30cm rear wheels, full suspension and two-wheel mode for sand and snow make it the benchmark in its class — I’ve assessed it against other premium all-terrain options in store, and nothing quite matches it for genuine off-road capability. Woodland paths, coastal walks, muddy fields, gravel tracks — the Fox 5 handles all of it without complaint.
The Geo3 is also a genuinely capable all-terrain pushchair — and Roundhay Park confirmed it. The 11.8-inch puncture-proof rear wheels rolled confidently across grass and gravel, the suspension absorbed the varied terrain without drama, and the couple we spoke with pushed it one-handed at times on the flat without apparent difficulty. In duo configuration with two young children it felt proportionate for that environment. But it’s not the Fox 5 — the Geo3 is an excellent family pushchair that handles all-terrain conditions well, rather than an all-terrain specialist first. For genuinely rough or extreme outdoor use where nothing should stop you, the Fox 5 is the right tool. For regular park life, varied park terrain and family walks, the Geo3 does exactly what it promises.
💡 Where this decision actually gets made
Most parents considering both pushchairs aren’t comparing terrain performance specs — they’re asking: “I have £900–£1,200 to spend. Which premium family pushchair fits our actual life?” The terrain question matters, but the warranty and basket differences matter just as much for most families.
The newborn question — both are ready from birth
Both are ready from day one. The Joolz Geo3 comes with its cot and its seat in the box, and Joolz says the seat is for when your baby can sit independently — usually around 6 months. The Bugaboo Fox 5 2-in-1 is the same idea: the bassinet and the seat are both included, and Bugaboo rates it from birth to around 4 years. There’s no newborn advantage either way.
The one newborn difference is weight: the Fox 5 is 13kg with its bassinet, the Geo3 14.1kg with its cot.
💡 What surprised me most
I expected the Fox 5 to dominate every category. It doesn’t. The Geo3 quietly solves several everyday problems better than the Bugaboo — the enormous basket at 60 litres and the 10-year transferable warranty make it feel like it was designed around family life rather than simply achieving the best possible ride quality. If you came here expecting a straightforward Fox 5 recommendation, the Geo3 might surprise you too.
The warranty — 10 years vs 4 years
Joolz’s warranty is genuinely different from anything else in this category. The Fox 5 comes with 2 years standard, extendable to 4 years with Bugaboo registration. The Geo3 also starts at 2 years standard, but extends to 10 years, transferable, if you register within 6 months of purchase — meaning it follows the pushchair rather than the buyer. For secondhand value and long-term ownership confidence, that’s a significant difference, provided you register promptly. It also signals something about the engineering quality Joolz is prepared to stand behind.
The weight — neither is light, one is lighter
The Fox 5 weighs 12.2kg. The Geo3 weighs 13kg with the seat — and you notice it. When I examined the Geo3 closely at Roundhay Park, the weight was immediately apparent. With two children aboard in duo configuration, the couple were managing it well on flat park terrain — but this is a pushchair that asks something of you physically. There’s 0.8kg between the two on paper, but the Geo3 feels more substantial. For a family doing regular outdoor walks in the right terrain, it becomes normal. For anyone lifting it daily into a car boot or navigating steps, it would become a burden. The Fox 5 is the lighter option — but neither of these is a pushchair for parents who prioritise portability.
The price — closer than you might think
At full price, the Geo3 is £1,079 and the Fox 5 is £1,115 — a £36 difference. That’s small at this level, and both brands were discounting in their own outlets at our October 2026 check, so compare current prices before you decide. For slightly less, the Geo3 gives you a 10-year warranty if registered promptly and a larger basket; the Fox 5 gives you superior terrain performance.
Choose the Bugaboo Fox 5 if:
- Genuine all-terrain performance is your overriding priority — woodland, coastal, muddy fields
- You want two-wheel mode for sand and snow
- You want the higher-scoring pushchair of the two — 8.5/10 against 7.5/10
- Bugaboo brand and resale value matter to you
- You want the lighter option between these two
Choose the Joolz Geo3 if:
- The 10-year transferable warranty matters to you
- A genuinely enormous basket is important for day-to-day family use — 60 litres and 15kg
- You’d rather save on the full price — £1,079 against £1,115
- You want capable all-terrain performance without needing the Fox 5’s extreme capability
💡 Mark’s honest summary
The Fox 5 is a more specialised pushchair. It exists to be the best all-terrain single pushchair available — and it succeeds at that. The Geo3 is a more rounded family pushchair that also handles all-terrain conditions well. The difference is in priorities: if extreme terrain performance is what you need, the Fox 5. If you need a capable premium family pushchair that does a lot of things very well — including all-terrain, exceptional storage and a remarkable warranty — the Geo3 is a strong choice. On our scores the Fox 5 is our pick, but choose the right pushchair for your needs and budget.

Frequently asked questions
For pure all-terrain performance, yes — the Fox 5’s 30cm rear wheels and two-wheel mode are the benchmark in the category. It’s also our overall pick — 8.5/10 against the Geo3’s 7.5/10. The Geo3 still makes a strong case if a warranty that can run to 10 years and a larger basket matter more to you. Choose the right pushchair for your needs and budget.
Neither has an advantage. Both are sold with a cot or bassinet in the box, so both are ready from birth. Joolz says the Geo3 seat is for when your baby can sit independently, usually around 6 months.
If you want the most capable all-terrain pushchair available, the Fox 5 is worth the extra cost. If a warranty that can run to 10 years and exceptional storage matter more to you than the Fox 5’s terrain edge, the Geo3 is worth it for those specific priorities — and it’s £36 less at full price.
Significantly, if you register promptly. Joolz starts at 2 years standard, extending to 10 years and transferable to a new owner if you register within 6 months of purchase. Bugaboo offers 2 years standard, extendable to 4 with registration. For secondhand value and long-term ownership confidence, the Geo3’s warranty is one of the best in the category — provided you register it in time.
The Fox 5 at 12.2kg versus the Geo3 at 13kg. Both are heavy pushchairs by any measure, but the Fox 5 is 0.8kg lighter — a meaningful difference for daily boot-loading and gate navigation.
