Silver Cross began life just a few miles from where I started my own career in the travel industry. I worked round the corner from the Silver Cross factory in Guiseley in the early 1990s — drove past the back of it multiple times every day. Growing up in the area, Silver Cross wasn’t just a pushchair brand. It was part of the town’s identity.
For anyone of an older generation, Silver Cross still conjures the image of a coach-built pram — used by royalty, arguably the best-looking pram ever made. The styling has moved on enormously since those days. The brand’s commitment to quality hasn’t. Silver Cross is one of the few names in this market where the heritage is genuinely earned rather than invented by a marketing department. That’s the starting point for every review on this page.

The Silver Cross flagship — large wheels, proper suspension and a frame built for varied terrain. Examined in real use at The Running Fox in Northumberland. Feels rugged and genuinely capable — though the frame scratches on a relatively new example were a mild disappointment at this price point. It does what the Reef name promises. Be honest with yourself about the weight before you commit: 13.2kg is substantial.
Silver Cross Breez
10.5kg · Urban & suburban · Unfolding Collection · RideTech wheels
New for 2026 as part of the Silver Cross Unfolding Collection. Lighter than the Reef 2 and more capable than the Clic 2 — a genuine mid-range position rather than a compromise. Assessed at the Baby Show 2026. The fold nuance most reviewers miss: the most compact fold requires the seat in the forward-facing position.
Silver Cross Clic 2
6.5kg · £295 RRP · From birth · One-hand fold · 3-year warranty
The lightest Silver Cross and the most accessible price point. One-hand fold, from-birth lie-flat seat, 3-year warranty — no registration required. Assessed at John Lewis Leeds. Honest caveat: the Clic 2 is not IATA cabin-compatible — Silver Cross confirm this in their own FAQ. Mark’s honest verdict: if flying is the priority, go for the YOYO³ or the Bugaboo Butterfly 2.
Silver Cross Pop 2
7.5kg · Urban & smooth surfaces · Successor to the iconic original
The successor to the 2007 original Pop — vastly improved on build quality, fabrics and recline. Mark’s connection to the original is genuine and he says so. The honest caveats: two-handed fold and 7.5kg means it is not for daily public transport use. Worth considering especially as a bundle. Good value for a traditional urban stroller with Silver Cross build standards.

💬 Mark’s honest take on the Silver Cross range
I have a genuine affinity for Silver Cross — I grew up knowing the brand, I worked round the corner from the factory in Guiseley in the early 1990s, and I know what it’s capable of. That affinity makes the honest negatives in these reviews more significant, not less. The Reef 2 feels like a Silver Cross. The Breez feels like a Silver Cross. The Pop 2 has earned its name. The Clic 2 is the one that doesn’t quite live up to what the badge promises — and I’m telling you that rather than hiding it. Buy Silver Cross for the heritage and the build. Just be honest about which model fits your daily life before you commit to the one with the most impressive spec sheet.
