Joolz Geo 3 — what makes it stand out

It was a warm Sunday afternoon. After an excellent morning at Tropical World with Janette, my children and the grandkids, we crossed into Roundhay Park for a picnic — and that’s where we met a lovely couple with a Joolz Geo 3, configured for two.

Roundhay Park is one of the largest urban parks in Europe — open grassland, gravel paths, wooded areas and gentle slopes. It’s exactly the environment the Geo 3 is built for, and it handled it with ease: the 11.8-inch puncture-proof wheels and genuine suspension looked composed rather than unsettled across the varied terrain, and the couple pushed it one-handed at times on the flat without apparent difficulty.

In duo configuration with two young children it felt proportionate for the environment. The storage basket — rated at 15kg and 60 litres — had room for the family picnic and everything else they’d brought along. It was the right pushchair in the right place.

The 15 expansion configurations — mono to duo to twin — are a genuine long-term case for a growing family, which is exactly why that couple had chosen it. The caveat is that the duo arrangement is tandem, upper and lower seats, not side-by-side, so the two children sit at different heights. The weight was noticeable when I briefly handled it: 13kg with the seat fitted is substantial before a child is even added, and that’s a real cost for families whose daily life is mostly smooth pavements rather than parks and gravel.

iCandy Peach 8 — what makes it stand out

Testing the Peach 8 hands-on alongside Janette, the fabric was the first thing that registered — the kind of quality you recognise immediately, the way you know good hotel bedding before checking a label. Janette put it simply: “That’s exceptional.” That tactile quality carries through the whole ownership proposition: a reversible seat, smooth push balance on urban streets and park paths, and a carrycot designed in partnership with The Lullaby Trust that’s suitable for permanent overnight sleeping — a specific, meaningful safety credential rather than a generic manufacturer claim.

The 5-year warranty is among the best in its class — our source review doesn’t mention an equivalent registration requirement to the Geo 3’s six-month window for extended cover. It converts to a tandem double, though the adaptor kit is sold separately and the configuration is inline rather than side-by-side — worth factoring into your total budget. Its closest rival is the Bugaboo Donkey 6, which shares its 8.5/10 score for entirely different reasons: modular engineering and resale value rather than fabric and safe-sleep credentials.

Which kind of pushchair do you actually need?

Both of these pushchairs accommodate a second child and both are premium propositions, but they’re solving different problems. The Geo 3’s case rests entirely on terrain and expansion flexibility — if your week genuinely includes parks, gravel and uneven ground, its capability is hard to match, and the 15 configurations give you room to grow. The Peach 8’s case rests on everyday polish and confidence — exceptional fabric, a safe-sleep-credentialed carrycot, and a warranty with no registration step mentioned in our source review. If your walking is mostly pavements and parks rather than genuine off-road terrain, the Geo 3’s biggest strengths go largely unused, while its weight and bulk remain a daily cost.

Which is the better buy for your situation?

If regular outdoor terrain is genuinely part of your week and you’re planning for a second child, the Geo 3’s all-terrain capability and configuration flexibility are worth the weight and bulk trade-off. Remember to register the warranty within 6 months, and compare the complete configuration cost — duo and twin setups add to the £1,049 mono starting price.

If your daily life is mostly urban streets and park paths rather than rough terrain, the Peach 8’s fabric quality, Lullaby Trust carrycot and 5-year warranty make a stronger everyday case. Its closest rival, the Bugaboo Donkey 6, is worth comparing directly before you commit — both share the same 8.5/10 score for very different reasons.
