The decision in three questions
Is a second child certain or just possible? Do you prefer children side-by-side or tandem on the same chassis width? Will you regularly lift the complete double configuration? Those three questions decide this comparison more than any headline score.
Why trust this comparison?
iCandy Peach 8: Tested at a local stockist. Build quality, fold, fabrics and steering all assessed in person. Scored 8.5/10.
Bugaboo Donkey 6: Tested in store including the three-click single-to-double conversion. Frame rigidity and side-by-side seating geometry assessed personally. Scored 8.5/10.
Weight note: These were hands-on assessments rather than a full configuration test. iCandy does not publish a weight for the Peach 8; Bugaboo publishes configuration-specific weights. We have not compared them as a headline number because the figures are not directly comparable.
This comparison: Both score 8.5/10. The same score does not mean the same pushchair.
The real difference between these two
Both pushchairs score 8.5/10. Both are premium. Both convert from single to double. And yet they’re designed around entirely different ideas of what a growing-family pushchair should be.
The Peach 8 converts on a single footprint — the chassis doesn’t widen. A second seat is added in tandem, keeping the same chassis width through doorways, corridors and lifts. The design prioritises refined engineering, luxury fabrics, a Lullaby Trust-approved overnight carrycot and a five-year warranty. The Peach 8 is built around the idea that premium quality and elegant design come first.
The Donkey 6 is built around a different idea: true side-by-side seating. When you convert to double, it expands sideways to 74cm — still fitting standard doorways, but meaningfully wider. In exchange you get equal-sized seats side by side, Bugaboo’s three-click conversion that takes under a minute, outstanding storage and all-terrain wheels designed for serious outdoor use. The Donkey 6 is built around the idea that capability and flexibility come first.
The key distinction
The Peach 8 keeps the same chassis width in double mode — tandem seating, children one behind the other. The Donkey 6 expands sideways to 74cm in double mode — children sit side by side, with equal-sized seats. Neither is objectively superior. The right choice depends on whether your priority is maintaining a narrow chassis or giving both children equal seating position. Measure your home’s doorways and lifts against 74cm if the Donkey 6 is on your shortlist.

Which should you choose?
Choose the iCandy Peach 8 if:
- Maintaining the same chassis width in double mode matters — in tight spaces, narrow corridors or older homes, the tandem configuration is a genuine daily advantage
- Premium build quality and luxury fabrics are the priority — the Peach 8 is genuinely exceptional in this regard
- The Lullaby Trust-approved overnight carrycot is important to you
- You want the longer warranty — 5 years versus 4 years even when bought direct from Bugaboo
- Your daily walking is primarily smooth pavements and parks
Choose the Bugaboo Donkey 6 if:
- Side-by-side seating matters — both children at the same level with equal-sized seats is a genuine difference from tandem designs
- The quick three-click conversion is important — for families who convert regularly, this is meaningfully faster than most alternatives
- All-terrain capability and outdoor use are priorities — the Donkey 6’s large puncture-proof wheels are better suited to rougher terrain and outdoor use
- Storage is a priority — the 15kg under-seat basket plus the additional side luggage bag is outstanding for two-child daily use
- A second child is likely enough to justify the expansion system’s additional width and cost
💡 The honest summary
Both are excellent pushchairs and both score 8.5/10 — but they suit different families. The Peach 8 is the right choice if luxury quality, same-chassis-width double conversion and a more refined everyday experience matter most. The Donkey 6 is the right choice if side-by-side seating, conversion speed, all-terrain capability and outstanding storage matter most. The score is the same. The pushchair isn’t. Be honest about which set of priorities matches your actual life — and test-lift whichever double configuration you intend to use before committing.
