About MyPushchair

MyPushchair was founded in 2006 — one of the first independent pushchair review sites in the UK. After an extended hiatus, the site was relaunched in 2026 with a new editorial formula built around first-hand testing, transparent methodology and genuinely independent verdicts.

The site is run by Mark Hartshorne, who spent more than thirty years in the family travel and leisure industry before returning to pushchair reviewing. Mark is a parent and grandparent with direct experience of choosing pushchairs for children with additional needs, which informs the site’s approach to accessibility and practical real-world testing.

MyPushchair covers the mainstream UK pushchair market — premium, compact, all-terrain and value segments — with a focus on helping parents make better buying decisions rather than simply cataloguing specifications.

Our review approach

Every review on MyPushchair clearly states how the product was assessed. We use four levels of evidence, and we never conflate them:

Testing level What it means
Hands-on tested Mark has personally handled, folded, pushed and assessed the pushchair — in a retail setting, at a trade event or via a manufacturer loan
Owner-informed Structured feedback gathered directly from a real daily user, combined with independent research and specification verification
Long-term test Extended assessment over weeks or months — available for selected models where a manufacturer loan makes this possible
Research-based Specification review and independent source analysis — clearly labelled where used, never presented as hands-on experience

We verify all specifications against primary sources — manufacturer websites, retailer listings and, where available, our own measurements. Where sources disagree, we say so rather than selecting the most convenient figure.

Review sample and loan policy

We welcome product loans and review samples for editorial consideration. Sending a product does not guarantee coverage, a positive review or a specific publication date. Our editorial opinions cannot be influenced by sample status.

How it works

  • Loan products — we are happy to return products after testing, or to retain them for longer-term assessment where this adds editorial value. Return arrangements are agreed before dispatch.
  • Gifted products — where a product is gifted rather than loaned, this will be clearly disclosed in the review.
  • Review timescales — typically two to four weeks from receipt for a standard hands-on review. Longer-term testing pieces take longer by design. We do not guarantee publication dates unless agreed in writing for embargoed launch coverage.
  • Editorial control — manufacturers do not review or approve editorial content before publication. Factual corrections are always welcome after publication.
  • Coverage — we assess products honestly against the needs of UK parents. A positive loan experience does not guarantee a positive verdict.

What we don’t do

  • We do not sell review scores or guaranteed ratings
  • We do not publish sponsored reviews presented as independent editorial
  • We do not allow manufacturers to review or approve content before publication
  • We do not guarantee positive coverage in exchange for product loans or samples
  • We do not accept payment to influence verdicts
  • We clearly disclose all affiliate relationships and gifted products

Why work with MyPushchair?

Reputable brands benefit from honest independent coverage. Parents trust reviews precisely because they know the verdict hasn’t been bought. A MyPushchair review that recommends a product does so because the product earned it — and that recommendation carries weight with readers as a result.

  • Independent editorial — verdicts that readers trust because they know they can’t be bought
  • Transparent methodology — every review states clearly how the product was tested and by whom
  • Long-form coverage — reviews designed to help parents make a decision, not simply list specifications
  • Comparison coverage — head-to-head comparisons against competing products, giving manufacturers context for where their product sits in the market
  • Evergreen content — reviews remain live and indexed, continuing to serve parents making purchasing decisions months and years after publication
  • Nearly twenty years of history — an established domain with genuine heritage in the UK pushchair market

Why independent reviews matter

Parents don’t trust perfect reviews. They trust balanced reviews that acknowledge strengths and weaknesses honestly. Our aim is to help parents buy the right pushchair — not to recommend every pushchair we cover.

Manufacturers who build genuinely good products benefit from independent scrutiny because it gives parents confidence that praise has been earned rather than purchased. A MyPushchair recommendation carries weight precisely because we are willing to say when something isn’t right for a particular buyer — or when a competing product serves them better. That’s not a threat to good products. It’s what makes the positive verdict worth having.

Media, launches and trade events

We welcome invitations to product launches, trade shows, media briefings and retailer events. If you are launching a new pushchair and would like to discuss review opportunities ahead of release, we are happy to talk — embargoed briefings are welcome where agreed in writing.

We also welcome interview opportunities with product designers, brand representatives and independent retailers where these add genuine editorial value for our readers.
